Ability for each user to *quality once on a single Talk post
For now we've only been able to call *quality once per a single Sift Talk post. Recently, however Siftbot comment on blankfist's congratulatory post made me think the rules had been suddenly changed, so I tried to call double *quality on alien_concept's idea of sharing underrated-Sifts to no avail.
I think it would be great if we could award more than one star point per a real *quality Sift Talk post. And as far as I can tell no new problems should arise from implementing such a change: it's not like one person could abuse the system, is it?
I guess this would have served the purpose better if it had been made into a poll, but I couldn't create a new poll while kp's on a Game Room was still active. But maybe there's just no support for this idea? What's other Sifters' take on this? Would this disrupt the current equilibrium?

I'm laughing at you, not with you.
I think it's a fabulous idea
The thing is, it's almost become social ettiquette to quality sift talk posts now, which is great, there is always soemone who appreciates what you have to say. But there have been a few times when i've really enjoyed something and wish I could show my appreciation too. I bet they say no though
^ rasch is right, I somehow managed to misinterpret the meaning of paint can's initial comment (meaning I actually thought Siftbot awarded blankfist the other power point, too), and I have now edited this Talk post accordingly.
That doesn't change the purpose of this Sift Talk, though. I still think this might be a good change to implement.
People should be able to do this, absolutely. If they want to * quality, it should be possible whether or not anyone else has done it. It's like a vote for talks.

Except that you don't get one star point for every vote on your videos.
I am a little ambivalent on this suggestion, since it could lead to star point inflation. But maybe with a cap on the number of star points that can be awarded per talk post?
I've always like the idea of being able to transfer one star point of your own to another member. That met with great resistance, though. I still think there's something about it that would be cool.
I say leave the * quality invocation as it is, but also make the original sifttalk post upvotable like a comment.
That way you could get 1 star point (for the * quality) but also 1 extra power point (for 15 or more upvotes of your comment)

Good idea! I like it.
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
I'm afraid it would lead to star point inflation. Before you know it, people will have to haul virtual wheelbarrows full of star points around just to make a simple promote. And then you know what that leads to ... the collapse of the Siftmar republic and then ...
Siftler.
Then just let us vote on talks and get a star point if it's deemed quality (10 or 15 votes or something). And still keep the quality system as it is too.
So a maximum of two star points could be gained, plus an indication of whether it was a good post.
