Update: Got to bed at 1AM, Up at 5AM. Can't get anywhere near the area, Everything is in Lockdown to protect from looters. Can't see how far the fire made it over night. They are reporting 400 Hec. (?) Water bombers are supposed to start again by 7AM. I hpe they hit it hard so we can go home (thinking positively). Thanks for you wishes... lol, haven't eaten since breakfast yesterday...

...Just got back from Evac centre. No news to be had. Starting to see helecopters in the sky, no planes dropping water yet. Grabed a sandwich and a bottle of water at the evac center. Tried to get close enough to see something but no luck, too many road blocks....

Stay safe, and I hope your house is ok! I grew up in Finland, no wildfires there, but a condo near mine caught fire when I was a kid, and just that gave me bad dreams for a long time.. Fire is such a powerful element!

Just stay strong.. I am sure we all are thinking of you and hoping for the best!

Update: Stopped in at work this morning (mon), don't know how long I'll stay. This might be my only access to a computer for the next while. Haven't slept or ate much all weekend. As of last night I got evacuation vouchers for a hotel and some food. Still can't get back into the area, it's still considered a "hot zone" or "Active fire" and is still not contained.

I'm safe and my family has been staying in Kamloops (a town close by). They will be home this morning now that I have a hotel.

I haven't seen or heard any news since I left the area about 5:00 Sunday night.
I'll work for a bit this morning and then leave early. I need to go buy some clothes and a toothbrush etc.

Cheers!
Thanks for all your wishes, You just realize how traumatized your brain gets when face the stress and you don't get food or sleep for days!

Some (1500) families are being let back into their homes today, but Alas, we are not among the lucky few. First to evacuated, so I expect to be last back in. Our accomodations has been extended 3 more days. Our food allowance runs out today, so we need to try to get that extended as well. We were able to get some clothes yesterday and some incidentals like toothbrushes and paste etc. Still keeping the spirits up. The kids are being brave through it all.

I'm getting sick of line-ups and handouts but at the time VERY THANKFUL for them. Thanks to everyone...!!!!

We went back to the house last night to inspect it. No fire or spark damage was apparent. I had all the doors and windows closed so no smell of smoke inside. After having the door open for the 20 mins we were there, the smell crept in but that's just the air. We will be going home today sometime around noon. The kids are excited though we are still on evac alert so we cannot unpack our stuff and get normal quite yet.

I expect to be back to sifting as early as maybe tonight before bed
I hope everyone has a great day!!!!
