I find it very strange that someone would come here, never once submit a video, doesn't become a charter member, and their only involvement is arguing with the "liberal" sift members.

I also don't see how eloquence somehow is a contribution to anything. William F. Buckley was an eloquent individual. And when he spoke of tattooing every HIV patient with a warning sign, he did it with flare and eloquence.
Personally, I have much more respect for people who are giant assholes, but who also submit videos and actually watch the videos they respond to.

I really don't see how not watching a video, but then proceeding to spew your rhetoric is some sort of contribution to anything.
I was never aware people were required to contribute something. Unless someone is being abusive to other members or is spamming there aren't any rules against it.
I'm not the type to troll other people's comments, but that's just me. I think this person just stands out because he's is opinionated.
Although, it doesn't hurt to be aware. I don't know what comments have been made against volumptuous personally, but I never squelch anyone (for fear I'll miss out on something). I say if he isn't personally trolling you or going out of his way to cause major upheaval, then "Don't sweat the small stuff". If there is a clear issue at steak, then a personal email to Dag is order.
Some people just have altering opinions and deserve to be heard!

if this sock puppet dude has a right to his opinion so does volumptuous. i think it took a pretty nasty comment, or a build up of several comments to make him post a talk about it. I feel ya, and I've felt picked on on here befoe, and it sucks but in reality it shouldnt matter and ussually people tend to inerpeet text harsher than the writer intended. I hope this fizzles down

Take a look at who down voted it. Take a look at who's taking a conservative stance, note how none of the usual suspects bothered commenting. Not enough to prove anything, but damned fishy if you ask me.
Honestly, I think he's just a mostly-harmless bug. As long as he's a perpetual probie, he can't down-vote. Maybe he doesn't realize you get that privilege at bronze star level. He seems like the type who would enjoy it if he had it. (I try to downvote vids as sparingly as I can... comments are open game, though - check your facts or else
That said, I find the time line of events surrounding his account creation fishy, and leads me to suspect that he really is someone's sock puppet account. I've been on internet forums long enough to recognize the patterns of trolls. Some people will go to great lengths to feel like they're being heard. I know that Dag says he doesn't see evidence of puppetry, but I also know that people on dynamic IPs can be difficult to track and pin down.
Either way, whoever he is, his views put him in a minority, both here, and in the real world. The Conservative Base is shrinking, and it's only natural for some members to get vocal about it. Its just the sound a fish flopping around, waiting for the mainstream to come to it, instead of the other way around.

I believe I read his original first comment here, and what makes me suspicious of him just being a troll is he had a very different political view in that original post. He was harping on everyone about how he's a free thinker, not belonging to any party and he makes up his own mind on issues. He seemed to attack both parties in that original post going on about how sideing with either side makes you root for your team instead of thinking for yourself.
It was a very long post, and it was very clear he was telling everyone in the thread they where like sheep. I suspected he was just trolling as it seemed to be over the top condescending. I called him on a number of hypocrisies in his post because he was behaving in the same way he accused others of acting.
But now he seems to be very right wing, and he said in a recent post that he posts here because of the liberal bias he perceives here. This leads me to believe he just likes stirring the pot, and isn't 100% behind the things he's saying.
Now I just ignore him, my suggestion would be for anyone else to as well. *shrug*
