No but seriously, people can be friends without sharing views on every single issue, and it's definately no sure thing that to spend time with someone leads to their opinions rubbing off on you. And it feels like a moot point because talking to people and building relationships is what politicians do, and it's not protecting Obama any more than it is McCain to not point out all the weirdos they've been around during their political career. Instead, look at what Obama and McCain are saying, what their views are and most importantly what their policies are. That's what's important and what actually matters. Then, if you still feel the need to draw conclusions, look up why they have those views/positions. You'll find it infinately more productive than speculating in the candidates' possible secret agenda, based on some people who's views are in contrast of what the candidates have expressed publically and in their decisions during their political career.
The difference that I've seen between the McCain bashing videos and the Obama bashing videos here is this: While the Obama bashing videos like this one are solely based on rumors, conspiracy theories and guilt by association games, most of the McCain bashing videos are based on McCain speeches where he contradicts himself, his voting record and factual events, his campaign making mistakes of different kinds and himself publicly and directly approving of certain questionable individuals.
Obama said that he didn't agree with his pastor, and as far as I know his voting record, his policies and his public appearances reflect on that, so that's not an issue for me. There's simply no reason to believe that Obama feels the same way his pastor does, when everything Obama has done and said indicates the opposite.
Hehe, thanks man. That made my day. You know, lots of people had problems remembering the guys' names, so the thing to keep in mind is this: The guy who looks like a Benny is named Bjorn, and the guy who looks like a Bjorn is Benny. Works every time!
Regarding the buying of the lot, how is that corruption? I know lots of people how've gotten together to buy a piece of land that one of them couldn't afford on their own, it's called a collective. Having a friend help out in buying a house you really want isn't in any way unethical in my book, helping out is what friends do. Also, regarding his friend's own dealings, well that's their business and shouldn't reflect on Obama at all. Guilty by association is a game you can play with anyone, unless you happen to know *of* a community where everyone are saints of course. If you want to go down that route then take a good long look on McCain's associates, or why not just take a look in the mirror for that matter, then pass judgment on Obama.
If they're working atleast twice as hard for US companies for less than half of what they should make, wouldn't you say they've earned the healthcare they supposedly leech? And by this I'm not referring to all illegal immigrants and definately not all US citizens, but as a generalization wouldn't you say that they've worked for that healthcare atleast as hard as US citizens?
There's no universal definition of either feminism or feminist stances, which is why there's no way to discuss it and reach any universal agreement. There's simply no way to win when taking on "feminists", because anything and everything you say WILL be wrong. If you think women should be able to wear burkas you're oppressing them, but if you are for them wearing whatever they like you're objectifying them. It's all depending on what feminist you ask and where you're asking the question, and always the discussion is predetermined by the mindset that all womanhood is being oppressed and that manhood as a whole is oppressing them.
There are still areas where men and women are unequal, but you really have to realize that driving a wedge inbetween the people who hold those beliefs and trapping them in an argument where all answers are wrong won't further any thoughts on equality. "Equal but different" is how my mother brought me up to look on men and women. There are people who don't see it that way; some who see it as men being superior to women, and relatively recently that women are superior to men, that's where you need to focus your attention if you ask me.
Feminism isn't about reprimanding people for complimenting a woman in a clumsy manner, about verbally attacking someone for making a joke or try to create some moral highground by drawing farfetched conclusions based on scewed movie statistics. Chastising the people who hold the equality beliefs will not further any feminist cause, because there's no corralation between enjoying Dita von Teese's burlesque show and objectifying women and viewing them as inferior to men. Change comes from engaging the minds and views of persons who haven't been brought up into thinking humans are equal no matter their gender.
There was a political party who formed in Sweden called FI (feministic initiative) which fell apart in a matter of months. It did so because it couldn't agree on a political agenda, what policies to push and what parties to cooperate with, due to everyone having different ideas on what feministic initiative meant. There was no common ground to build a platform on, because on every issue one member wanted to pursue, another held the opposing view on the same argument. The initiative ended up polarizing people even more and doing more harm than good, simply by attacking persons who held the view that everyone's equal by turning everything they did into an affront to women's suffrage.
Changed the embed to the same hymn. However, part of what I wanted to share with the original was the video of the person playing the organ to go along with it, but until he resubmits his video to youtube, this one will suffice as a replacement.
Do you know what you get when a tyrannosaurus running eastwards at 25mph meets a tyrannosaurus running westwards at 15mph? Tyrannosaurus wrecks! Speaking of which, is it true that a tyrannosaurus can't hurt you if you're carrying a torch? Actually, it depends on fast you carry it! Is this a joke thread or a cemetery? I've had livelier times at funerals. Reminds me of the gravedigger who got so bored he buried himself in his work. Tusk tusk, mustn't be so boaring. Quickly moving on, do you know the difference between a cheeta and a comma? One has claws at the end of its paws, the other has a pause at the end of its clause. And let us end on that note.
Don't like the new Joker at all. Just like with everything else nowadays they just had to make him more emo goth dark, completely detached from all other incarnations of the Joker. Kind of sad to see him reduced to a generic, misunderstood, dark villain with a sad, troubled past. Probably kept the name solely for name recognition's sake, which led to them being forced to add the face paint. By the look of it, however, it's clear the instructions on how to apply said face paint wasn't specific enough. Then again, this video might not accurately portray the Joker of the new movie. Or, I'm simply not the target audience.
