Drudge calls Michael Ware a Drunk Anti War activist

The video is from March 2006 - It's not really breaking news or anything, but it's part of painting created by Matt Drudge to smear Micheal Ware into a Drunk Anti-War Activist.

You have to be careful where you get your news from on the Internet. Michael Ware, a CNN correspondent laughed at McCain a few days ago on CNN because McCain painted a rosy picture of Iraq. Ware corrected McCain by saying there was indeed no neighbourhoods that could be walked through safely.

To McCain's credit he went to Iraq to take a look for himself, however he proved Michael Ware was correct since McCain needed 100 Soldiers, and some helicopters to ensure his safety while strolling through a random Iraq neighbourhood.

So Ware was right...So what suddenly gets leaked to the press?

The Drudge Reports
<i>"McCain heckled by CNN reporter
Sun Apr 01 2007 13:50:38 ET

During a live press conference in Baghdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.” "</i>

Or course the Drudge report doesn't name sources, or provide links to additional information, in fact they don't even keep permalinks of what they say. This headline will surely disappear soon. But the damage has already been done.

This blogger did a little research, he gives you a visual representation of how the media will take this Drudge report and let it become news.

Did anybody ask Michael Ware what happened? CNN did of course, according to Ware he was never even asked a question.

My response to Drudges claims that Ware is a Drunk anti war activist? Living in Baghdad for 4 years, will probably turn anybody into a drunk anti-war activist.
