Don't get me wrong, I enjoy various forms of art. But what's going on here? I'd like to hear his explanation of it.
Chris Burden gained notoriety through such performance pieces as 'Through the Night Softly' (1973) in which he slithered through glass on his stomach with his hands tied behind his back. He purchased a prime time television slot and aired a video tape of this performance to much controversy and consternation. His other pieces include having an assistant shoot him in the arm.
I've been searching the internet for his explanationof the 'flying steamroller', to no avail so far. I think it's supposed to be viewed at face value.
I wonder how much this cost!
Then there was the "crucified on a volkswagen thing".

This makes sense?

Just watch. When that heavy steamroller floats above the ground it feels to me as something novel and a little weird to see such a "pushing-on-the-ground" object floating silently above it. Cool to me.
