They should be congratulated. I'd be going in for extra credit with this one for years.

Considering how these cases have turned out in the past, and the fact that there was no plea bargain (as there almost always is when these cases have any merit), I'm gonna have to accept her defense that she's being set up by people wanting her fired.

She wasn't caught by police, some kids just claimed they saw her and she was arrested, that's some fine police work in Michigan.

Either way, I feel sorry for her husband.

But , why would she risk 1 year of prison ? Wasn't he 18 ? I understand getting fired and maybe even a big fine etc., but not those kind of punishments .

The jail time would be for indecent exposure - being naked in public. But if that's the case, then her fuck buddy ought to be in jail, too.

This case where the guy's 18 maybe you're right but when a 26 year old teacher sleeps with a 15 year old boy... I'm sure that's what any 15 year old boy would think is awesome at first but when someone abuses a semi-parental role like that it tends to mess the kid up underneath. That's why it's a monumental no-no for therapists to sleep with patients. Instead of having someone that's validating their worth and judging them based on their commitment to learning they're judging them on what turns them on. And it will have the same effect on anyone else that teacher taught to a lesser degree once they hear about it. If you had a really healthy upbringing you might be able to take that but if you didn't it will fuck you up badly... I've seen it.

I think any person being interviewed about teacher-student sex should be forced to take off their Santa hat.
