I just watched this movie recently and was blown away by it. Very beautiful animation and story. The science fiction aspect of it is nicely done.
Here is a pretty good clip I found with english subtitles from the early part of the movie. I recommend watching it if you can find a screening or.. by *ahem* other means... the Japanese romanized title is 'Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo'.

Beyond was directed by Koji Morimoto of Akira fame. Tokikake's director seems less known, having directed a Digimon and Sailor Moon movie among others.

anyway, you can find the full movie uploaded in veoh. You may have to download their VeohTV player to download/watch it though. But i think it's worth it.
